Effects of the White Paper April 06, 2016 at 2:18 pm
Stroud News and Journal (30 March 16) gave front page coverage to the recent White Paper, and especially the academisation issues. But how will this and other issues raised in the budget and WP effect ARCH? What challenges will schools face for delivering the creative arts?

The white paper underestimates the value of diversity in all schools. We must take a stand and deliver Arts led diversity for all children no matter what the DFE agenda. This will take guts and resilience

I agree. But I suppose my main concern is for schools, especially secondary schools where the negative influence of the Ebacc may well result in the loss of arts provision. Where schools will be able to make individual decisions under academisation that may favour the narrow focus on Ebacc subjects, 'guts and resilience' will be a paramount necessity for senior managers and all those with governance responsibility. What do other colleagues think?
